Moving Forward

The deep parts of my life pour onward,
as if the river shores were opening out.
It seems that things are more like me now,
that I can see farther into paintings.
I feel closer to what language can't reach.
With my senses, as with birds I climb
into the windy heaven, out of the oak,
in the ponds broken off from the sky
my falling sinks, as if standing on fishes.

-Rainer Maria Rilke

It's remarkable how some times a poem can capture exactly how you are feeling.

hey Pal, since this was originally in german I have to say something to it ;-) ... Looking at the german version I feel that the two versions have a different expression... translations just don't make it

Ben -- I'm sure it's quite different in German.Yes, I agree translations most often , don't capture the essence of the original. However, the translation itself holds a lot of meaning for me at this stage in my life, which is why I put it up.Since the poem IS by Rilke, it's only right to put his name down.

Hey not sure if this is the right forum to reply, but i did a lookup on Rilke. From what wiki tells me, he delves into existentialism a bit, and in this, you could say, unfortunately for me, my thoughts match his. Thanks though!

Why "unfortunately" Aniruddh? Maybe you want to, if you want to, reply through e-mail.
